About Me
I have been leading worship for over a decade in various organizations and mediums. And I’ve been a musician for over 20 years (and yet I don’t consider myself old!), starting my studies on the piano before I was ten, teaching myself guitar in my later teen years, and picking up random instruments here and there from then on. Previously I was a Music Minister and even Youth Pastor, and presently I am working my way through a Master of Divinity in Advanced Biblical Studies at Southeastern.
But before I am a worship leader and a seminarian, I am first and foremost a sinner saved by grace. I am not perfect by any stretch, but I am fighting to be the man and leader God has called me to be through the grace of Christ. Second, I am a husband to a beautiful, wonderful wife who I am still not quite sure why I was blessed to be loved by her (again, the grace of God!), and father to two of the most zany boys on the planet – and a third child on the way!
Presently I am not employed at a church but am working full-time in the secular job-market to support my family while I finish my degree. I have been blessed to serve under and be able to learn from one of the best worship leaders I have ever encountered, Daniel Creswell, at my church, North Wake (note, if you’re ever in Wake Forest, NC, you really should visit the church!).
Leading in Worship and the music ministry in general are my heartbeat, something I am passionate about and can never get away from. As is obvious from this site, I love to write and I love to share. I do not think God has taught me and gifted me in these ways to keep them to myself. I think every church can have an effective music ministry, whatever the talent level and the size of the music ministry, and I hope to help encourage and challenge worship leaders to maximize the effectiveness of their ministry for the health of the church at the macro and micro level.
